Digital Wales -- Aerial Photography

Selection of Aerial Photography websites covering Wales

Wales from the Air
Wales from the Air currently provides access to aerial footage of many places in Wales including Ceredigion, Gwynedd, Cardiff, Swansea and Gower, Monmouthshire, Pembrokeshire, Conwy, Flintshire, Denbighshire and Powys. It is possible to retrieve the aerial footage through a search engine, interactive map or an A-Z listing. The videos are available in Windows Media and Real Media format at 56k and 300k bandwidths.

Coflein
Coflein contains details of many thousands of archaeological sites, monuments, buildings and maritime sites in Wales, together with an index to the drawings, manuscripts and photographs held in the National Monuments Record of Wales (NMRW) archive collections. Sites can be displayed on Ordnance Survey maps and ordered geographically, as well as by text queries. The data can be searched by location (place-name, area or Ordnance Survey 1:10,000 map sheet), by type (the classification or function of a site, monument or building) or by keyword. RCAHMW, through its partnership with the Gathering the Jewels Project, is fortunate in already holding 2,000 digitised images from the oblique air-photo collections. It is administered by The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales in Aberystwyth.

Gathering the Jewels: Aerial Photography
Gathering the Jewels also provides many aerial photographs of Wales, which are part of the photographic collection of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales. The Themes section of their website has items on aerial photographs of:
