For the specialist press in Wales it is worth visiting the following publications.

Barddas

Barddas is a bi-monthly publication focusing on Welsh poetry by Wales's most famous poets. Barddas was first published in 1976. The website provides contact details and synopsis to many of Barddas publications.

Cambrensis

Cambrensis is published with support from the Arts Council for Wales. It has been in circulation since 1989 and contains the best short stories by the writers of Wales. The website provides details of the anthology and reproduces a small number of stories from past issues of Cambrensis.

Cambria Magazine

Cambria online is a national magazine for Wales. It deals with numerous Welsh related topics including the arts and current affairs. Full text access is only available to a selected number of articles.

Contemporary Wales

Table of contents and notes for authors for Contemporary Wales. It is an annual review of economic and social developments and trends in Wales. For institutions that subscribe to the journal, online access is available through Catchword.

Cyfrwng

The aim of the Cyfrwng project is to provide a forum for the presentation of research and scholarly discussion concerning the media in Wales. This is done through three inter-linked elements which are a new interdisciplinary journal published annually, an annual peripatetic conference each April, and this active website. The website contains information about the journal and how to subscribe, information about the conference including how to register and information about the projects officers.

Gwlad

Gwlad is a free online monthly publication focusing on agricultural and rural affairs and is published by the National Assembly for Wales.

IT Wales

ITWales is the monthly guide to IT in business, and is brought to you by IT Network Wales. The IT magazine for Wales, provides essential Welsh IT news including new initiatives and websites, features on popular topics, reviews of computer programs, and interviews with key players within IT in Wales.

New Welsh Review

New Welsh Review is a lively quarterly magazine which brings you the very best new writing from Wales. Each issue 'which features a whole host of writing talent, from the literary heavyweights to rising new stars' includes a range of critical articles, book reviews, fiction, poetry and a regular theatre supplement. North American Association for the study of Welsh Culture and History (NAASWCH)

The North American Association for the study of Welsh Culture and History (NAASWCH) is a multidisciplinary association of scholars, teachers and individuals based in North America and dedicated to advancing scholarship on Welsh studies, supporting the study of Welsh-American culture and fostering international bonds within the Welsh, American and Canadian academic communities.

Ping Wales

Ping Wales is a online news site for the Welsh IT industry. The news resource has sub-sections on business, networking, software, hardware, security and the internet. The website contains daily news covering the latest IT developments across Wales and the world, features in-depth articles on business strategy and development and interviews with the decision makers shaping the Welsh IT industry.

Planet is a bi-monthly magazine covering the arts, culture and politics in Wales. The website posts an introduction to the magazine, information on the current issue, an archive of selected articles, and subscription information.

Poetry Wales

Poetry Wales is a quarterly magazine with an international reputation for fine writing and criticism, and is committed in covering the best Welsh writing in English. The website provides online access to extracts from the journal, and brief details of forthcoming issues, back copies and poetry events in Wales.

Taliesin

Taliesin is a Welsh language literary publication which is published three times a year by the Academi gymreig with the support of the Welsh Books Council. The publication was launched in 1961 and today it includes new writing, contemporary literary ciritcism, articles on the history of literature, a wide range of reviews and 'the most complicated crossword in the Welsh language'. The website provides a background history of the publication and it is possible to read some articles from both the current issue and past ones. You will also find information on how to contribute.

Welsh Country Magazine

Welsh Country is your countryside magazine for wales - with an eclectic mix of articles. It is a perfect bound full colour magazine published every two months and distribution is via three routes by the advertisers within the magazine, independent newsagents and by subscription.

Welsh History Review

The Welsh History Review is published in two parts per year and was established in 1960. It covers a variety of subjects relating to Welsh history and has book reviews and obituaries. The website provides table of contents to the journal going back to 1996. Online access is for those in educational establishments with Catchword/Ingenta.

Welsh Writing in English

This is an academic journal devoted to Welsh writing in English and is published by the New Welsh Review. The website provides table of contents but no online access to articles. The Yearbook covers the 'whole chronological range of Welsh writing in the English language'. It also considers essays on Welsh-language authors.
