For those interested in past newspapers, it is worth knowing about Newsplan Cymru a heritage lottery funded project whose support include that of the National Library of Wales. The website provides information about the work of Newsplan Cymru and has access to a database of Welsh newspapers available in libraries either in paper form or on microfilm. It is possible to search by newspaper title, collection, place of publication and keyword. The project will preserve unique and fragile collections of newspapers held in libraries throughout Wales. Many of these collections will be preserved on high quality microfilm and will be made available to the public.
