Academi

The Academi contains an up to date events guide to literary Wales, updated information on the writers and the publishers of Wales, literary discussion and forum, and a Welsh literary news section. Details of the TÅ· Newydd writers courses at Cricieth are also featured. The writers of Wales directory lists biographical, bibliographical and contact details for many authors in Wales. There is also a directory of publishers in Wales. Academi is a national society that promotes both the writers and the literatures of Wales.

Archives Council Wales

Archives Council Wales contains information on archives in Wales, and represents institutions and organisations from all parts of Wales involved with the administration of archives. The website includes annual reports, listing of aims and objectives of the council, and a directory of all archive repositories in Wales.

Arts council of Wales

The Arts Council of Wales official website provides background information to the body that is responsible for funding and developing the Arts in Wales. Cadw

Cadw is the agency responsible for protecting, conservation and promoting the built heritage of Wales on behalf of the National Assembly. The website posts latest news, press releases, news archives and contact lists. Brief information and location is also provided on all Cadw sites in Wales which range from the prehistoric to the Industrial age. Legislation and educational support is also included on the website.

Culturenet Cymru

Culturenet Cymru is a new body that is working to promote Welsh heritage and culture online. Their work covers a range of areas including: the arts, heritage, sport, tourism and education. Culturenet Cymru is based at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth.

National Eisteddfod of Wales

The official website of The National Eisteddfod of Wales includes a very brief history of the National Eisteddfod, an informative and updated news section and contact information. Also, given prominence within the National Eisteddfod website is its sponsors and a prominent link and contact point is given to the Eisteddfod's Wales and the World ceremony.

National Library of Wales

The National Library of Wales is located in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion and was made a legal deposit library in 1911. The National Library of Wales contains a comprehensive collection of works relating to Wales, not only in published form - books and pamphlets, magazines and newspapers, ephemera, microforms and electronic material - but also manuscripts and archives, pictures and photographs, maps, sound recordings and moving images. The website contains visitor and reader information, details on its many collections, and access to the library's many online catalogues and online resources including printed materials, and framed works of art. Information is also provided to its digitisation schemes, past exhibitions, and family history. It is also home to the Welsh Political Archive, and many other Welsh online projects.

National Museums and Galleries of Wales

National Museums and Galleries of Wales official website posts information on art, archaeology, natural history, geology, social and industrial history in Wales. It provides location and collections information on all its sites including National Museum and Gallery (Cardiff), Museum of Welsh Life (St Fagans), Roman Legionary Museum (Caerleon), Welsh Slate Museum (Llanberis), Museum of Welsh Woollen Industry (Felindre), Segontium Roman Museum (Caernarfon), Turner House Gallery (Penarth) and Big Pit (Blaenavon). The website contains information on its historical sites, and include details of its exhibitions (past and present), and an education section for schools and colleges.

The National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales

The National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales/Archif Sgrin a Sain Cymru is based at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth, and was established in April 2001. The site posts information about the archive and its collections. The National Screen and Sound Archive's aim is to maintain and develop a collection of sound and moving images that is a reflection of Wales through the ages, and make the collection available to the public.

Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales

Presents the Royal Commission on the ancient and Historic Monuments of Wales, which examines the built heritage of Wales. and makes the information available to the public. The website contains information on the Commission's current publications and projects in the fields of archaeology and architectural history, and the Collections of the National Monuments Record of Wales. Also, available is the extended national database for Wales, which is a national index of archaeological and architectural information. Other databases within the website is CARN, as well as a listings of chapels, industrial sites, wall paintings and parklands and gardens. S4C

S4C on the Web - the official website of the Sianel Pedwar Cymru. S4C's Web site is packed with information including updates on the channel's favourite programmes, and news about the channel and it's programmes.

Sgrîn

Sgrîn is the primary organisation for film, television and new media in Wales. It administer grants and offer advice, encouragement and support in film-making, film exhibition, and distribution. The site includes information on Sgrîn and it's activities, the Wales Film and TV Archive, New Media and Film commissions in Wales, and Media Antenna Wales (information office of the European Union's Media Plus programme). Full text access is available to the handbook 'Made in Wales' which lists the production of companies working in Wales, and a links page to media and film organisations in Wales.

Sports council for Wales

The Sports Council for Wales is the funding body for sports in Wales. The website posts information on the Sports Council, latest news, information services, and details on its centres at Plas Menai near Bangor, and the Wales Institute of Sport in Cardiff.

Welsh Books Council

The Welsh Books Council is a grant-aided body concerned with the promotion of Welsh language literature, and books of Welsh interest for both adults and children. The Website notes the aims of the Welsh Books Council, provides information on available editorial, design and marketing services.

Wales Millennium Centre

The web site for the Wales Millennium Centre, an intended International arts centre situated in Cardiff Bay. The site posts information on the forthcoming centre and further information on the arts in Wales. It will be the home for the Academi, Diversions, Urdd Gobaith Cymru, Touch Trust, TÅ· Cerdd, Hijinx and the Welsh National Opera.
