The Celtic Millennium Weaving Project was organised by Rhondda Cynon Taff Community Arts. It began in 1996 and ended in 2001, and set out to involve older people in marking the Millennium - creating art works based on their own reminiscences and hopes for the future. It included work from the communities at Treorchy and Maerdy in the Rhondda, Llantrisant from the Taff Ely area, Penrhiwceiber and Perthcelyn in the Cynon Valley and from Pontypridd. The weavings illustrate the history, culture, traditions and hopes of the valleys through the eyes of the participants of this project.
