Summary The Cardiff Singer of the World competition was started by BBC Wales in 1983 and is a biannual event held every other June. Today it is considered one of the premier singing competitions in the world, and each competition sees hundreds of young singers from accross the world enter. The site provides a complete guide and history of the competition, the concerts, the rules and the people involved. This is the website for the 2005 competition, won by Nicole Cabell from the United States. The Welsh entry was Camilla Roberts from Wrexham. Previous winners include Bryn Terfel in 1989 and Neal Davies in 1991. The website also gives an insight into what it's really like to be an opera singer.

Fe'i gynhelir ym mis Mehefin bob yn ail flwyddyn, gyda channoedd o gantorion ifanc o bob cwr o'r byd yn mentro ym mhob cystadleuaeth. Darperir arweiniad cyflawn i'r gystadleuaeth a'i hanes ar y wefan hon, gyda gwybodaeth am y cyngherddau, y rheolau a'r bobl sydd ynghlwm â'r gystadleuaeth. Dyma'r safle ar gyfer cystadleuaeth 2005, a enillwyd gan Nicole Cabell o'r Unol Daleithiau. Title Texaco Young Musician of Wales Texaco Young Musician of Wales.
Summary Texaco Young Musician of Wales is a biennial competition eastablished in 1989 and is a great stepping stone for a number of young musicians. Preliminary Rounds are held at four venues around Wales and 24 competitors are selected to compete in the Regional Finals. The Texaco Young Musician of Wales is supported by Côr Meibion De Cymru, the south Wales Male Voice Choir and the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra. The website provides rules and entry form for the competition.
Summary Cystadleuaeth a sefydlwyd ym 1989, ac a redir bob yn ail flwyddyn, yw Cerddor Ifanc Cymru Texaco. Mae'n fan cychwyn gwych ar gyfer nifer o gerddorion ifanc. Cynhelir rowndiau rhagbrofol mewn pedair lleoliad ar draws Cymru, a dewisir 24 o gystadleuwyr i fynd ymlaen i'r Rowndiau Terfynol Rhanbarthol.
