Title Dic Penderyn Ysgol King Henry VIII.
Summary The website is part of the campaign by King Henry VIII School, Abergavenny in trying to get the Welsh Assembly to give Dic Penderyn a posthumous pardon. In 1831, there was a rising by the people in Merthyr because of their poor working and living conditions. In the middle of all the fighting a soldier called Donald Blake was stabbed in the leg. Dic Penderyn was found guilty and hanged for the offence even though many felt he was not guilty. 40 years after the event, a man called Ieuan Parker confesses on his death bed, that he was the one that stabbed Donald Blake all those years ago. The website provides information about the history of Dic Penderyn and this event, as well as details of the campaign.
